No, seriously, I have been busy. Doctor things. I just went to Dallas Thursday to meet with the transplant doctors for the first time. That means I will most likely be having a double lung transplant in the, hopefully, near future. They have a ton of tests that must be done first. Make sure I don't have cancer or something like that that might make me a bad candidate. I don't think so, but you never know. Other than having breathing troubles and things of that nature I feel fine. Now I just have to wait to get all those tests ordered and finished. I'm hoping it won't take too long. You actually have to go to the dentist before transplant and make sure there aren't any sources of infection in your mouth. I still have my wisdom teeth so I have to get those removed. Plus I get a lot of cavities and decay from all the meds I take. I hate the dentist. I think most people hate the dentist though.
Cool factoid though....one of the docs who will be doing the surgery was actually on the show Hopkins that played for a few eps on ABC. They replay it on WE every once in a while. I actually watched the episode where they did a lung transplant. It was cool. They didn't really show much of the recovery though...just stuff leading up to it and the surgery itself. I'm more curious about the recovery process. You can tell me what's gonna happen, but it might not come out the way they say. Could be better or worse. I'm hoping for better! Well....I'm going now. My friend just showed up!
